Parade Information

  • Date/Time: Wednesday, July 4th at 9:00 a.m.
  • 2018 Parade Theme: Ride the Wave
  • Start/Finish Parade: Parade Starts at Slade & Douglas. Parade Ends at Douglas & Highland
  • Estimated Parade Time: Approximately 2 hours long.

No parking on the parade route/staging area starting at 6:00 a.m.

  • Fireworks will start immediately after the concert ends. 


  • Many downtown streets will close at various times to vehicular traffic over the holiday weekend to allow for a safe and enjoyable experience as the community celebrates Independence Day.
  • Absolutely NO coolers, outside alcohol or animals will be allowed at Festival Park for the concert and fireworks on Wednesday, July 4.

  • Shooting off fireworks in Elgin is illegal and there is an ordinance in place that will impact residents who allow fireworks to be detonated on their property. Click here for more information.

Grand Victoria Casino's 4th of July Celebration - FAQ's

Will there be food and drinks?

Absolutely! There will be many delicious food options as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options available at Festival Park. Guests will need to show ID and obtain a wristband upon entry in order to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages. There are also four dining options within the casino pavilion.

Will bathrooms be provided?

There will be port-o-lets inside Festival Park, in the parking lot on Prairie and Riverside Drive, and in the parking lot on Riverside Drive and Chicago Street.

Where can I park?

Parking will be free at the Grand Victoria Casino garage, based on availability. There is also abundant city of Elgin free parking in several locations nearby. If GVC garage is full, guests will be directed to the closest available city parking lot. Click here to view a downtown Elgin parking map.

What can I bring inside Festival Park?

Blankets, folding or collapsing lawn chairs, and personal cameras

What can't I bring into Festival Park?

Bottles, cans, coolers, weapons or contraband of any kind, alcohol, umbrellas, laser pointers, frisbees, audio and video recording devices, cameras with removable lenses and/or professional cameras, skates, bicycles, skateboards, scooters or other wheeled items, and pets.

Where is handicap parking?

Handicap parking is located at the Casino and on Lake Street between Villa and Grove.
